How to Become a Promotional Model

First off, what is a promotional model? 

A promotional model is someone who is crucial to marketing and advertising and helping raise brand awareness. They interact with prospective customers and can also do demonstrations of products. They can be thought of as the face of the company's marketing at trade shows and events. They often wor as the spokesmodel or brand ambassadors and can sometimes have ongoing contracts with specific brands or companies. 

What does it take to become a promotional model?

The first step in becoming a promotional model is to take quality headshot and full body photos. It is best to have these professionally taken, but it is not recommended. A few tips for great pictures:

• Make sure there are no filters or photoshop work with the photos. These need to be an accurate representation of who you are currently. 
• Present yourself in a professional manner and be sure to smile.
• Please do not submit pictures that are taken in a bathroom mirror, group or personal selfies, or inappropriate pictures. 
• For 2Tailz, you also want to include pictures with your dog. It is important for us to see your dog, so please include a couple pictures of them. 

The next step is to have a good resume. Even if you don't have any experience with modeling, that is okay. What we are looking for is any experience in a customer facing role. Be sure to include any relevant information, and if you can speak another language, be sure to include that as well. Make sure the resume is easy to read and proofread. 

At some point, if you are offered a position or scheduled for an event, we will need accurate clothing measurements. This is so event staff can provide you with brand attire. These measurements will include:

• Height
• Waist
• Hips
• Bust
• Dress size
• Shoe size
• Shirt size
• Pants size

Another tip for success is to upload a short video of yourself explaining why you believe you would be a great promotional model for 2Tailz. Be sure to discuss any experience and interests you have. If you will be modeling with your dog, be sure to include them in the video. Be sure to film in a well-lit and quiet area. Dress as if you were going to an interview, and most importantly just be yourself!
